Cravings, Cravings, Cravings!

Hey everyone!

It's been a rough week here.

My fiance lost a close Uncle and his family dog on the same day.

He's been pretty upset all week, but he's a tough cookie.  :)

Despite all that, we've both done a very good job of staying on track this week.

We've each been under our calorie goal all week, and we even got in some exercise playing Just Dance 2.

We're extra tight on money right now since Matthew had to take a few days off last month for our vacation.

BUT, we're making it work. He got paid today, so we have enough to get by for a couple more weeks.

I think we may even have enough extra to join the gym this week! Super excited about that!

I'm just having these huge craving problems lately.

I don't know if it's just withdrawal from not eating fast food anymore, or what!

But everyday, it seems like I wake up craving something different and just nothing I eat throughout the day will satisfy me. I think it also causes me to eat more than normal those days.

So, I think tonight we're going to eat out.

Obviously, I'm going to do this with caution.

I'm not going to eat like I used to, or force a 5 course buffet down, or anything.

I just want something to satisfy my cravings so I don't feel so miserable all week again.

I mean, what fun is sticking to your goals if you don't get a little reward every once in a while?

I just keep telling myself; no appetizers. no extra dipping sauces. salads for side dishes. don't over-eat.

As long as I stick to those basic rules, I don't think I have anything to feel guilty about!

We don't get to have many nice dinners out these days, so this is a treat not on just a nutritional level, but an emotional level as well.

So, the plan is dinner, then off to the grocery store.

(bad idea, I know.)

I'm going to post lots of new recipes and pictures this next week, so if you haven't already, click those links on the right hand side of the page to subscribe and follow me! You don't want to miss this stuff!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Mid-March Weigh-In!

Hey everyone!

Just had my mid-March weigh in this morning!

Things are looking better!

My weight went from 258 lb to 254 lb.

So, I lost 4 lbs since February 18th.

All my measurements also maintained or went down, but I'll get to that later.

That means I'm right on track with losing about a pound a week.

I'm so excited I'm seeing good numbers!

I've made such a huge change in my everyday life, and it's wonderful to see it paying off.

Before I started this, I was consuming at least 4-5000 calories a day, and that was when I wasn't even that hungry.

We would eat fast food almost every day, sometimes twice a day.

I haven't even started with my exercising much yet, because I just want to get myself stuck on this eating healthier thing first.

If I try to take on too much change at once, I might get overwhelmed and quit.

Still, even just changing my eating habits has lead to a 9 lb weight loss in just over a month.

And there was a week of vacation and nothing but convenience foods in there!

I'm still struggling with cravings and portion control, but it gets better each day.

I can feel my stomach shrinking a bit and I'm finding it harder to finish big meals that once upon a time, wouldn't even fill me up!

For the first time in years, we have LEFTOVERS.

I just love this. And I'm so happy I'm doing it.

And I'm so happy my fiance is doing it with me!

We plan on joining a local gym called Planet Fitness.

Some of you may have heard of it? It's an up and coming thing.

It's only $10 a month, and it's open 24 hours M-F and 7-7 on weekends.

It's very important to us that we get a 24 hour gym because Matthew always has crazy work schedules and sometimes we just can't do anything except late at night when he gets home.

PLUS, I'm waiting to hear back from an audition I did.

If I get this job, it's possible I'll be working 14-16 hour days, 6 days a week until september.

I'm still kind of hesitant about the whole gym thing, from hearing all the rumors about nosey and rude members lurking around them, but I know it's for the best.

Anyways, back to the celebration!

I'm down 9 pounds, with 94 pounds to go!

Oh, and here's my measurements (in inches) if you wanna take a look at those!

Welcome!

Hey everyone!

So, if you don't know me already, my name is Kelli.

I'm a 19 year old from Cincinnati, OH, and I'm here to lose weight.

I started my weight loss, alongside my fiance, Matthew, about a month and a half ago at 263 pounds.

Since started, my fiance and I have went through a lot of things that have slowed us down.

Nonetheless, I've lost 5 pounds since starting, and I have another weigh-in tomorrow morning.

Most of you following me already know me, so I won't go into some big autobiography.

Just subscribe to this blog and look for my future posts if you want to follow me on my journey!

I'll be discussing different recipes and food options for dieters on a tight budget, as well as exercises for those who can't afford gym memberships or expensive exercise equipment.

I'll also be posting picture updates, as well as weigh-ins and body measurements.

If you have a weight loss blog or want to get started with one, let me know, and I'll link your page from here for extra support!

So, as I said, subscribe and I'll be blogging all the way until I reach my goal!

Good night!

-Kelli
